Business & IT-alignment - partnership

Partnership Businesses & their IT service providers can be seen as a sort of marriage. The two partners have been together a long time. They accept each others faults and failings, they commonly complain "my partner doesn't understand me". They bemoan their fate and accept a relationship less than ideal for both parties. Some make the break, irretrievable breakdown- outsourcing IT - a divorce. Like real marriages (only worse), few make use of marriage guidance counsellors to patch things up, to help each party look at things from another perspective, to lay the issues on the table and make a fresh start. Unfortunately for many companies this is precisely what is now needed.
