Steering IT How competent is the Business in steering IT? If they new what IT stood for it would be a startSome of our managers know somebody who once saw a PC, that now makes them experts in making IT decisions If they could remember their passwords it would be an improvement. They think that the Internet is still just a hype Some of them actually know how to get past the screen saver Business added value of IT How does the IT organisation add value? The IT organisation is a black hole ofinvestment, where nothing of value ever comes out. Our It organisation adds value to society... we employ the dregs of society that nobody else is their right mind would employ! We'd get more value out of our IT employees by swapping them for a set of Pokemon cards. Our IT demonstrably improves the effectiveness and efficiency of business operations... ....then I woke up and realised it was a dream. |
