First Profession of Zuster Angela Maria
I, Sister Angela Maria, vow to God before the witness of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Father Saint Francis, our Mother Saint Clare, and all the saints, and I promise you, Mother, to observe for a period of three years the form of life which the Blessed Francis gave to our Blessed Mother Clare, and Pope Innocent IV confirmed, living in obedience, without anything of my own, and in chastity; and I vow to observe enclosure.
With the same words thousands of Poor Clares have used for eight centuries, our Sister Angela Maria gave her whole self to Christ and His Church on September 8, 2007, Feast of the Birth of the Virgin Mary. Though the formula for first profession requires the phrase "for three years", Sister assures everyone: this is forever.
