NewsThe 2008 Annual Conference of the European Cetacean Society was organised in The Netherlands (Egmond aan Zee) in the week of 10-12 March 2008. Workshops were set up in the weekend 8-9 March. The main title is:

"MARINE MAMMALS IN TIME:
PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE"

If I may quote one ECS member: "There are perhaps only two regrets which I ought to express as a first timer attendee: First, I wish the conference had been longer, and second, where was I all these previous years ..... ?".

The "Baltic Harbour Porpoise Bycatch Resolution" of the ECS is now online. The Society will later consider developing a similar statement for a wider area, but with appropriate modifications. (Update April 2008).

The membership gives preference to Proceedings in digital format. That means that the three late issues can distributed during Summer 2008 on DVD. Printing and sending would take more time.

 Dear ECS members,
the final version of the Baiji statement discussed during the last AGM in San Sebastian is now online. It will be posted also on the web page of the baiji.org foundation.
