- The EarthMap database is now available by simply downloading two Spark

minor internal changes).

- Translator 8.21 and Creator 3.41 have had a few minor bugs fixed.

- GreyEdit 1.40, PackDir 2.10, EarthMap 1.10, FileAct 2.30, DiscInfo 1.30 and
ModeInfo 1.20 have all been rebuilt, thoroughly cleaned up in all sorts of
ways, and tested (about time too, the last versions were 6 (PackDir, EarthMap,
FileAct, DiscInfo) to even 10 years old (GreyEdit, ModeInfo).
- GreyEdit has had a major facelift and is no longer restricted to pre Risc
PC machines, and is now Freeware.
- ModeInfo also got a major overhaul, is no longer restricted to RISC OS 2.00
(!) machines, and even supports ViewFinder.
- DiscInfo now understands RISC OS 4 maps.

- ZeriBeep 1.11 is now 26- and 32-bit processor mode neutral.

- With ZeriLink 2.43 the LinkR and LinkT commands on the Acorn side can now

- ZeriBeep 1.10 provides some major improvements in sound fidelity and accuracy.
- ZeriLink 2.42 is the first release since 5 years. Functionally identical to
2.41, but cleaned up, reassembled and recompiled, and otherwise brought up to date.
- Labyrinth 1.03 provides a few minor improvements, and now uses ZeriBeep 1.10.

- ZIDEFS 1.00 updates 7(!) year old version 0.90. ZIDEFS is now Risc PC
compatible, RISC OS 3.5 to 4.03+ compatible, supports 'large' drives (up to 256
GB), supports LBA (Logical Block Addressing), and introduces several other
improvements.

- 65Link 1.20 is now compatible with the A5000 (tested) and probably also
with the A7000, A4000, A3020, A3010 and A4 (untested).

- Translator 8.03 fixes a small niggle introduced in 8.02. Saving JPEG barfed
on '/' being used in the filename (again).
- Creator 3.31 fixes the same problem for Creator 3.30.

- Translator 8.02 is now up to 6 times faster loading JPEG and PNG (but this
needs dynamic area support and the image to be cached).
- Creator 3.30 has been rewritten in C++ (there are some minor user interface
changes). Also, BMP output support has been added and BMP input support has
been improved.

- Translator 8.01 adds BMP output support and improves BMP input support.
11th October 1998
- Finally, after five years : a new version of Translator. Version 8.00 is a
full rewrite, containing numerous enhancements.

- A few more 'quick ports' of Unix commandline utils : Grep 2.2 and Sed 2.05
(and a slightly changed Gawk 3.0.3).

- Gawk 3.0.3 is a 'quick' port of this well known Unix utility to RISC OS.

- 65Link 1.10 adds full support for second processors.

- 65Link 1.01 includes a module missing from 1.00 (oops). Writes from 6502 to
ARM were suboptimal and have been sped up by 40% (51k/sec now).

- 65Link 1.00 is a brand new application that allows your 6502 equipped
machine (e.g. BBC) to use the harddisc of your ARM equipped machine (e.g. RISC
PC) for file storage.

- DiscInfo 1.27 fixes a stupid bug.

- DiscInfo 1.26 now supports 'large' discs.
- ZeriLink 2.41 is now Freeware and will not be developed further due to
apparent lack of interest.

- DiscInfo 1.20 is a total rewrite and now features understanding of F format
discs and graphical display of disc maps.

- ZeriLink 2.40 now also supports PS/2 ('bidirectional') parallel ports,
which should make ZeriLink work on a much greater number of machine types (e.g.
the A5000 and A4, although this is untested currently).

- ZeriLink 2.30 is twice as fast. Transfer speeds up to 800k/sec are now
possible.

- ZeriLink 2.20 improves on hardware compatibility (in addition to the
software, the cable has to be modified).

- EarthMap 1.00 is a total rewrite and contains numerous improvements among
which full RISC PC compatibility, 'wrapping' world display, database file
caching, editable detail colours, higher processing speed and more.
- FileAct 2.20 is also a full rewrite, although functionality has changed
very little.
- Creator 3.21 and PackDir 2.04 have a few minor bugs fixed.

- ZeriLink 2.10 improves on hardware compatibility (in addition to the
software, the cable has to be modified).
2nd March 1997
- ZeriLink 2.00. A brand new application. This software, with a suitably
wired parallel cable, enables 400k/sec file transfer between a RISC PC and an
IBM compatible PC, two RISC PC's, or two IBM compatible PC's. ZeriLink is
Shareware and costs 30 guilders.
5th January 1997
- Creator 3.20. Again a major upgrade. All available input formats can now be
converted to all available output formats, without exceptions. The number of
colours to save in palette colour output images can now be chosen freely (e.g.
anything between 1 and 256 colours for an 8 bpp image). Support for the PNG
(Portable Network Graphics) format has been added, both read and write.
25th November 1996
- Creator 3.00. This is, hot on the heels of version 2.00, again a major
upgrade. Creator can now perform colour reductions using sophisticated
quantization and dithering algorithms, which greatly extends its conversion
capabilities. Creator 3.00 is StrongARM compatible.
- Also, a StrongARM compatible version of PackDir (2.03) is now available.

- PackDir 2.00. Like Creator, PackDir has been totally rewritten since the
last version (1.35) which was released three years ago. There are numerous
improvements, most notably speed-wise.

- Creator 2.00. This has been totally rewritten since the last version (1.42)
which appeared mid-1993. If you ever used Creator, you *must* check out this
new version.
