Vallee du Marcadau (1600m) / La Cardinquere (2409m)
De mooiste weg door de vallei is het oude voetpad langs de rechteroever van de Marcadau, dat bereikt kan worden door vanaf Pont de Espagne langs het Chalet du Clot te lopen. Als dagtocht is een eenvoudige wandeling naar Ref. Wallon (1865 m, 2 uur lopen), terug over het pad op de andere oever (1.5 uur), aan te raden. Een mooie, maar langere en iets lastiger dagtocht is het rondje, Pont de Espagne, Lacs de l'Embarrat, Lac du Pourtet, Lac Nère, Ref. Wallon, Pont de Espagne (ca. 5 uur, 800 m klimmen). Rechts op de foto is de top van La Cardinquere (2409m) zichtbaar.
The most beautiful trail throught the valley is the old footpath along the right bank of the Marcadau, accessible by walking from Pont de Espagne to the Chalet du Clot. A nice day tour is a hike to Ref. Wallon (1865 m, 2 hrs), and back via the road on the other bank (1.5 hr). A beautiful, but longer, and more demanding trip is Pont de Espagne, Lacs de l'Embarrat, Lac du Pourtet, Lac Nère, Ref. Wallon, Pont de Espagne (ca. 5 hrr, 800 m height diff.). The summit on the right is La Cardinquere (2409m).
