Vallée 'Estaubé
Blik op het Cirque d'Estaubé vanaf de Pont d'Estaubé (1765m). Links is de Port Neuf Pinède (2466 m) nog te zien, in het midden ligt de Pic de Pinède (2860 m), en rechts op de foto (in de schaduw) is de Breche de Tuquerouye (2666m) te zien. Deze laatste overgang is spectaculair maar niet eenvoudig omdat het door een gewoonlijk verijst couloir loopt (pickel, stijgijzers). Makkelijker is de overgang via de Hourquette d'Alans (2430 m) naar Gavarnie. Alternatief is terug naar Gavarnie langs het Lac des Gloriettes langs de Granges de Coumély.

The latter crossing to Spain is spectacular but not easy as it runs through a icy couloir (iceaxe, crampons). Easier is the crossing via the Hourquette d'Alans (2430 m) back to Gavarnie. Alternatively one might head for Gavarnie along the Lac des Gloriettes and the Granges de Coumély.
