Our homepage Welcome on the home page of Ant Bijlsma and Peter Reuderink. Here we try to supply you with as much information as possible about our tours on foot or on bike, with route descriptions, places of interests, tips, maps and guides, etc.
We started with this home page in september 1997, and we have still quite a lot to do before alle routes are described. We anticipate that the descriptions in English will lag somewhat behind: apologies for this!
Hiking and Biking We made our first bicycle tour in 1985: from Uitgeest to Luxembourg and back. In 1986 we made a tour through Hungary. In 1987 we started living together in Veldhoven/Eindhoven. Occasionally we made some tours, but our main passion in those days was sailing regattas in the 420-class. It was not until 1993 (mean while we had moved to Almere) when sailing became less important, and we went again on holiday by bike (through Spain). The first hike through the mountains was made in 1995. Since then, not a year has passed without a long trip by bike or on foot. Ant at work (St. Joseph hospital, Veldhoven) At work Having finished her study as a dietician (Prof. Kohnstamm academy, Amsterdam) Ant followed a study to become a technician in clinical neurophysiology (St. Joseph hospital in Veldhoven). After this Ant worked in the Flevo hospital in Almere. Currently she is team leader at the policlinic of the Zuider hospital in Rotterdam. Peter studied physics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and did his PhD at the Technical University Eindhoven. Afterwards he worked for Shell Research in Amsterdam, and on the Shell Refinery in Pernis (near Rotterdam). Currently, he is working for Shell Chemicals in Amsterdam. Since november 1999 we live in Woerden (near Utrecht). our home in Woerden Other interests are cars (especially Italian ones), Formula 1, gardening, dining out, and short wave radio (Peter). Unfortunately we have changed the Lancia Delta for a Volvo stationcar, because... Pepijn!!! ... on april 8th, 2000 Pepijn Harmen was born. So, no hiking and biking for a while, just pushing behind the baby-carriage! Pepijn, 4 months old
