The second edition of Grand
Strategy has been published. At the cover a warlord develops a
prophylactic strategy while he watches Mount Fuji. New analyses of
60 games by Boris Spassky are presented. Many
photographs and prints are included.
A biographic appendix has been added to the
second edition. Spassky writes about his life until 1970. It is his
first publication in more than three decades!
The
heart of the book is a general theory about strategy. Ideas of
Cluley, Euwe and Nimzowitsch have been transformed into a scientific
theory. Minor talents such as Watson have been neglected due to a
lack of intelligence. When I felt uncertain about the result, Spassky told me:
"You write about what is in my bones!"

book can be bought from the publisher,
