Travel Report

Back home from my trip to the "USA"

Travel story about our trip to America.

Friday October the 10th Jeroen (van Sande) and I (Cor) left for America.
Our first visit was to Cincinnati, that was the place where I would meet Xaroch again.
Xaroch and I where very happy to see each other !!!! Whitney was also very friendly.
The puppies from Whitney and Xaroch where beautiful and where asleep when we saw them the first time. It was fun to see puppies from Xaroch again.
The welcome was warm by the family Datema, John and Rita Datema gave us a tour across the city of Cincinnati and it's vicinity.
It is hilly and in the town are the big shopping mall's in which you can buy everything you want.

Wednesday 15th of October we left for Washington, by car, the trip lasted for 10 hours. The trip was beautiful, the hills with a enormous amount of trees, The trees which were in all kind of colors it was a fantastic sight!!!!!!
The first thing we did, when we were in the Hotel, was looking for Qucady, it was great to see her again.

.

Thursday we did a tour across the city Washington. We took a look at the White House, the Capitol and the enormous great government buildings,(and they are big!!!!)
That's one thing we doesn't have over here in the Netherlands. It was a impressive day , one which I never forget.

On Friday and Saturday we went to Washington Baltimore for the National Bouvier Specialty of the American Bouvier Club. It was one of the main event we wanted to visit during our stay in America. They had 382 entrees. Best Of Breed of the Specialty became the female:

"Ch Terra's Too Hot To Handle"
Owner:Lee Lochhead and David Calhoun.
Handler: David Calhoun

Breeder: Terra Terry Burian

On Sunday we went to the Specialty of the Greater Washington Bouvier des Flandres Club. One of the judges was, our Dutch Judge Hans v.d Berg.
there were 270 entry's, Best of Breed of the Greater Washington was the male:

"Ch Aristis Quantum Leap"
Owner Christine Louise and Elaine Paquette.
Handler: Elaine Paquette.

It is a pity that we have no picture of this Winner. All the three days the Judges performed perfectly. They showed their knowledge to the perfection.
It were three marvelous days, I met with almost al my American and Canadian friends it was a real happening. I also saw a lot of very beautiful Bouviers, the quality was higher than in 1995, when I visited America for the first time.

On Monday the 20th of October Jeroen and I traveled by plane to El Paso, there we were welcomed by Wilbert and Sandra Reid, we stayed with them for 5 days in Canutillo. Wilbert and Sandra are the owners of Reidsan Kennel on the Grove. One of the things many we did was shopping in El-Paso.
In the neighbourhood of Cannutillo are lots of high mountains, and Wilbert showed us the beautiful sights, I love the mountains, and it was a real thrill to be so near to them. After the trip through the mountains we went to New Mexico to visit some Picanot orchard's, and even they are very big!!!! ( the orchard's).

While we were in Cannutillo we were invited by Wilbert and Sandra to a Halloween party . So Jeroen and I went to the Halloween party, we danced and Laughed a lot, we had a real good time!!!!

It is very special, as someone out of the Netherlands to be on a Halloween party in America

In these 2 weeks I have seen almost all the Bouviers, which I have send to America, and that is the most beautiful experience for me on this trip to America!!!!!!!!!!!.

On Sunday October the 26th we went back home, and after a nice flight home, it was a pleasure to be back home with my family, because I had missed my granddaughter Kaylee a lot.

Herewith Jeroen and I (Cor)thank al our friends in America and Canada for the terrific time in America, and of course on the Specialty,

THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cor Valentijn............
