Welcome to Windshaper's Holt
Windshaper's Holt is an Elfquest fan club. Elfquest is a fantasy comic created by Wendy and Richard Pini and published by WaRP Graphics. If you want to know more about Elfquest, take a look at the Elfquest Home Page. The best way to familiar yourself with ElfQuest is to read the first 20-issue story arc. It is still available as a four-issue series graphic novel collection at most major bookstores.

Our holt is not a big one, but we are active and growing. It started all back in 1985 when Cor Stiemer discovered in the 'Lodestone' that it was possible to make your own holt. His greatest dream was to make a holt with nice members from all over the world. Windshaper's Holt started out with 10 members, half of the members living in the U.S.A. and the other half living all over the The Netherlands.

Over the years we publised 19 issues of our newsletter "Squalls" (4-98). We have had a rather long period of inactivitie, in which we survived on WaRPstuff and Christmas cards but now things are up and running again. If are interested, please do join us. We'd always like to welcome new members.


About Windshaper's Holt:

Many fan clubs create their own stories and artwork based on the original series. Unlike most fandoms, ElfQuest fans seldom write about the original series' CHARACTERS. Instead, we create our own characters and tribes of elves, who never meet, interact with, or even know of, the characters created by the Pinis. Originally, most EQ fan clubs (or "holts") based their tribes on the Wolfriders, the tribe to which the main characters of the original series belonged.

Now our holt is not a holt like it's generally known. It has all sorts of elves and they don't have a fixed holt (apart from Rest Holt). The members of this holt are mostly wanderers who decided to seek the companionship and safety of a tribe. Our holt is placed in the world of two moons, but has nothing to do with the Wolfriders, although we use the guidelines of the EQ-handbook. There is no real chief within Windshaper's holt, but when there is trouble among the elves, they usually turn to Daydreamer for judgement and guidance.

WSH Region It began when Daydreamer and Dagger 'got struck' by amnesia. They didn't remember their orgin, but kept having strange calling dreams. In order to get peace of mind and retain their mental health, they had to leave Lightheart's Holt (Rest Holt to be). Which had found and adopted them. They traveled a long time in the direction that they where drawn to. Sometimes returning to the sea, because they liked the water and its animals so much. On their journey's they met other elves, who sometimes joined them. At one time Dagger falls under the 'spell' of an feverdream and 'sees' Windshaper. Who told him that he and his brother Daydreamer are his descendants and that they don't need to seek further. After that they start to call their group 'Windshaper's Holt' and settle down. At this time they don't feel the need for a 'real' holt, where they would stay forever. They like their rather nomadic life, sleeping in tents made of hides and wooden sticks, when they travel but now they stay generally in the same area. The travel seldom leads them more than four or five days from Cub's Bay, for they (at least most of them) like the precence of the Stenella's. A sort of dolphin race who live there. They give elves their live-long trust and friendship but are not bonded yet.

Humans:
The elves of WSH don't have contact with the humans apart from occasional lively meetings.Their are two humantribes in area and both should be avoided. Desert Fox has met one human tribe that are friendly to elves but most elves have good reasons to fear humans.

Trolls:
Not much is know from them, apart from what Thorn has told and Daydreamer has seen (and that is not much; they 're very _shy_).
