What kind of a menu is this?

For all the types of opening hands, as defined in the diagrams for the the 15 opening bids, the "chances of occurrence " have been calculated. The results are incorporated in the respective diagrams of MAF:

1§ 1¨ 1© 1ª 1NT 2§ 2¨ 2© 2ª 2NT 3§ 3¨ 3© 3ª 3NT

It has been a hell of a job, to perform the calculations required for this. As far as I know the probability of getting a hand with a certain distribution and also containing a certain amount of hcp's has never been calculated before. At least the results have never been published before.

If you want to see the results follow the instructions: If you are not in the framed page called index0 then use this link after reading the rest of this paragraph. When you have arrived at the index page you should click "ODDS" from the bottom menu and consequently a new main menu left will arise. Under "????" you will find this page again, so press it and read on.
If you arrived here from the "?-button" then of course disregard this link.

Under the lower 10 buttons of the "ODDS MENU" you will find mainly probability tables. They are not very big about 65 kB each, which corresponds with download times of about 15 sec (it might be worth while) for 33k6 connections.
These tables give the accurately calculated chances of getting a hand with a given distribution and a given number of HCP's.
When P is the number of HCP's, then under distributive the chances for hands holding exactly P hcp's are given and under cumulative the chances of hands holding 0through to P hcp's are given.
The three ODDS buttons show you the results of a particular application of the tables on MAF.

If you are pleased with these tables and want some more information, you must have a look at my FAQ-page where some questions are put and answers can be found on the calculation of these tables.
