(64, according to my mother), also from Herveld. (by the way: "mafkees" is dutch for somebody who uses to act tardy and sluggishly in a funny way,
once in a while)
It must have been about 50 years ago that I did it (playing bridge) for the first time. I never had the exact date in mind.
I designed the system with great joy. I got some valuable inspiration and tips from a small amount of sources, . The main part was conceived by myself, which took me altogether many years.
This homepage was built by me. This took, learning HTML, learning a bit of typing and a bit of Java Script and a very little bit of the Java Language, developing some tricks and pinching/making of the pictures included, nearly two years.
I did not devise the index page applets from scratch (to difficult for me until now), but I borrowed the technique very simply from some very clever Swedish guys and girls), in about the same way I used the tickers used for the surfboard or control panel. These applets are, I hope, still on the computers of their owners in the USA.
When not playing bridge or thinking/writing about bridge, I like to reflect on environmental problems from the point of view of a "politically unbiased environmental philosopher". Please have a look at the first results of my reflections at my Internet Site on Environment and Pollution. It has nothing to do with bridge, but it is none the less very interesting and very serious too.
I am glad that I also did something else for 40 years, because bridge and philosophy generally do not yield profit, especially when you try to promote contrary views. Now I can both live and cherish my hobbies.
I shall not try to annoy you with more interesting facts about me, my other hobbies, my family or our pats. Sorry for that.
