Value: This is a cut of a Finnish stationary cover from year 1850, when Finland was a part of the Russian Grand Duchy. The value marking was printed on cover. Five different papers were used. This printing is identified by the vertical oval; issue 1856 was horizontal. The 1850 printing consisted of three values: 5 kopek blue, 10 kopek red and 20 kopek black. These covers were used in Finland and Russia before stamps, which were issued in March 1856. Cancellation with ink was normal, and date marking (if any) was put elsewere on cover.
