2007

T.E.E. (Trans Europe Express) ran between The Netherlands and Switzerland. There were five strong dieselengines that were built in 1957, three of which were owned by the Dutch Railways.

2008

Thalys is the high speed train which travels from Amsterdam to Paris via Antwerp and Brussels. The Dutch Railways (NS) owns two of these HSTs. Thalys' top speed is 300 kph, but that speed cannot be reached since the Dutch high speed railnetwork isn't ready yet. These trains were built in 1996-1997.

Burkina Faso

1998

The 1500 series was built by the British Rail works in Gorton in 1954.

Cambodia

5-7-2001

Number 3737 is the last surviving steam loco in The Netherlands which is still operational for special services.

Central African Republic

25-1-2000

The 1100 series was built by Alsthom (Belfort, France) in the years 1950-1956. The 1101-1150 were painted turquoise, whereas the 1151-1160 were blue. In 1971 they got the NS standard colours.

Cuba

2007

At the same time that "54 material" was acquired, NS got eight Benelux railcars for the Amsterdam - Brussels line. They arrived in 1957 and got the numbers 1201-1208. They were built by Werkspoor.

Djibouti

28-4-2000

The ICM-0 (Plan Z; Numbers 4001-4007) and ICM-1 (Numbers 4011-4050) are used for intercity traffic in the western region of the country, the so-called Randstad. The ICM-0 was built by Talbot in 1977. The ICM-1 from 1983 onwards.

Poland

Polish troops were employed during operation Market Garden during the Second World War. In an attempt to free The Netherlands from the German occupation , many of them were killed at Arnhem, when the wrong bridge was bombed (A Bridge Too Far). The stamp shows railway lines in the Arnhem area.
